"Harry" Rosenberg, age 85 of Menahga, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Josephs Area Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Harry was born near Blackduck, MN on January 24, 1926 to George and Alma (Loken) Rosenberg. As a child he moved with his family to Arvilla, ND where he attended country school. Harry was drafted into service with the United States Navy in 1944 serving his country during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of War. Upon his honorable discharge in 1946 he returned to Larimore, ND. Harry traveled around the country for a time before settling in California. He gained employment as a Civil Servant at McClellan Air Force Base as a Heavy Equipment Foreman in a career that spanned 35 years. Harry met Elsie during this time and the two were united in marriage on June 2, 1951. They made their home in Orangevale, CA where they helped to raise their four oldest grandchildren. Harry endured the loss of his son, Donald in 1977 and his wife, Elsie in April of 1979. Upon his retirement in 1981 he ventured back to Larimore, ND. After shuttling back and forth for a time he moved to Larimore where he met Marge Andrys. At first she turned down his invitations but Harry was persistent and at long last Marge said yes. On July 26, 1995 they were united in marriage. The couple traveled all around the Midwest. They stayed with children and grandchildren and as they were needed, helping with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harry and Marge paused for the longest time in Menahga, MN regarding it as their home. Harry enjoyed playing cards mostly Pinochle, Rummy and Hand & Foot. He was a tinker who enjoyed fixing things. Harry took the time each day to fill the bird feeders in his yard and the birds became so tame they would land on the feeders before he returned them to the tree. He loved to go fishing with Chris, Harold, Dan, or anyone he could wrangle into going with him. Most of all he treasured the time spent with his family who he loved with all his heart.
