FUNERAL SERVICES : 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Two Inlets, MN with Father Thomas Friedl officiating.VISITATION : 5:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.INTERMENT : St. Mary"s Catholic Cemetery in Two Inlets, MNSURVIVORS : Her daughter, Cynthia (David) Korkowski of Dayton, MN; her granddaughter, Rachel Hope Korkowski of Champlin, MN; her grandson, Joshua David Korkowski of Maple Grove, MN, her sister, Rosemary Cooney of Park Rapids and two brothers: Walter (Irene) Willenbring of Park Rapids and Tim (Marilyn) Willenbring of Ponsford, MN. ALICE BERNADINE WOESTEOctober 23, 1922-April 13, 2011 Alice Bernadine Woeste, age 88 of Park Rapids, MN, peacefully passed away at the Care-Age Home of Park Rapids in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Alice was born on October 23, 1922 in Richmond, MN to Frank and Mary (Boeckermann) Willenbring. It was in Richmond that she attended elementary school. At the age of 13, she moved with her family to a farm north of Park Rapids near Two Inlets, MN. She attended the Park Rapids High School where she graduated with the Class of 1941. She went on to attend the St. Cloud Business College where she studied accounting. After graduating, Alice gained employment working as an accountant for the Litchfield Light and Power Co. On June 25, 1946, Alice was united in marriage to Carlos Woeste, who had just returned from fighting in the Pacific Theatre of World War II, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Two Inlets. Shortly after their marriage, the young couple made their home for a short time in Two Inlets before moving to Wadena. Alice continued in her accounting career working for the Wadena REA. In 1954, she and Carlos moved to Alexandria where they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Cynthia Mary. Several years after Cindy"s birth, Alice resumed her position working part-time with the Wadena REA. After Cindy began school, Alice gained full-time employment at the Gardonville Coop Telephone Association in Brandon, MN. In 1985, Alice and Carlos moved to their retirement home near Two Inlets Lake north of Park Rapids where they enjoyed their retirement years together. Alice deeply grieved the death of Carlos in January of 1992. Alice continued living near Two Inlets until failing health caused her to become a resident at the Care Age Home near Park Rapids in 2004. She was a life long faithful Catholic who was very involved with St. Marys Catholic Church in Alexandria where she was a Christian Mother and later at St. Marys Catholic Church in Two Inlets. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles. Alice loved the outdoors and in her younger years, enjoyed fishing and hunting with Carlos. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cynthia (David) Korkowski of Dayton, MN; her granddaughter, Rachel Hope Korkowski of Champlin, MN; her grandson, Joshua David Korkowski of Maple Grove, MN, her sister, Rosemary Cooney of Park Rapids and two brothers: Walter (Irene) Willenbring of Park Rapids and Tim (Marilyn) Willenbring of Ponsford, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Esther in 2006 and her brother, Ray in 1995. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Two Inlets, MN with Father Thomas Friedl officiating. Mary Schmitz will be the accompanist and the St. Mary's Choir Members will be providing the music. Casketbearers will be: Tom Cooney, Mary Cooney, Jeanne Cooney, Jim Willenbring, Paula Zitzow and DeAnn Thurner. Interment will be held in the St. Mary"s Catholic Cemetery in Two Inlets, MN. The St. Mary's Catholic Church will be hosting a luncheon following the service. Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN.
