ARDIS RUTH NELSONApril 7, 1926 ~ July 27, 2011 Ardis R. Nelson, age 85, of Park Rapids died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.Ardis Oleson was born April 7, 1926 at LeRoy, MN the daughter of Leo and Evelyn (Spencer) Oleson. She grew up and attended school in LeRoy. Ardis was united in marriage with Robert Nelson August 23, 1952. They made their home in the Vancouver, WA and Park Rapids and owned the Deer Lane Store on Lake George Road. The store was sold in 1968 and Ardis began work as a home healthcare aide. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, traveling, crocheting and watching wildlife.Ardis is survived by her children, Robert (Kathy) Wogstad of May City, IA, Duane (Roberta) Nelson of Virginia, MN, Wyman (Carma)Nelson of Pointe Noire, Congo, Gloria (David) Isackson of Chanhassen, MN, Eino Nelson of Chaska, MN and Ruth Dwire of Hackensack, MN; siblings, Edith Baxter of Austin, MN, Leon (Louise) Oleson of Tennessee, Darlene (Kenneth) Buttolph of Alaska and Lou (Mary) Oleson of Aberdeen, SD; seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Clinton and Donnie Wogstad; one granddaughter, Ann Langfitt and one sister Bonnie Mix.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Pastor Wyman Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Emma Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
