CALEB SCOTT "Crosby" ANDERSONMarch 7, 1995 " September 4, 2011 Caleb Scott "Crosby" Anderson, age 16, a life long Park Rapids area resident, died tragically on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his home. Caleb was born on March 7, 1995 in Park Rapids, MN to Darrel "Archie" and Renee (Town) Anderson. It was in this community that he attended Park Rapids Public Schools. Caleb was a good student who was consistently on the honor roll and would have started his junior year this week. Caleb was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. He loved hockey and had served as a manager for the Panthers Boys Varsity Hockey Team this past year. He also played on the Park Rapids Panthers Golf Team. He enjoyed golfing with his uncle, Gordy and looked forward to their annual Golf outing with the 3-M golfing group. Caleb was a huge Pittsburg Penguin Hockey and Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan. He enjoyed playing cribbage and whist with his grandpa Don. Caleb was so proud of his brother, Derek, who as an elite Army Ranger just returned from serving his country in Afghanistan. He appreciated that his big brother had taught him how to hunt porcupines in the northwoods. Caleb had always enjoyed a very close relationship with his older sister, Chelsie who loved to cook for him, shop for him and who basically loved to care for her little brother all his life. Caleb enjoyed spending time with his dad at their land learning how to operate tractors, the skidloader, the log splitter and other equipment. His dad taught him how to build deer stands, repair four-wheelers and snowmobiles and hunt deer. Caleb appreciated his mom for all the unconditional and sacrificial love she continually gave to him. He enjoyed sparring with her about their favorite opposing sports teams. She loved to hear him cheer on his favorite teams and relive the play by plays of the game. Above all, Caleb loved and understood the security and nurture he received from his family who loved him with all their heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Darrel "Archie" and Renee Anderson of Park Rapids; his brother, Derek, stationed at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, Georgia; his sister, Chelsie at home; his maternal grandparents: Don and Gloria Town of Park Rapids, MN; his paternal grandmother, Delores Anderson of Bagley, MN; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who all feel the pain of his loss.
