FUNERAL SERVICES : No services will be held.INTERMENT : Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors, MNSURVIVORS : Nieces and Nephews CAROLINE JANE TAIG November 4, 1921 ~ October 21, 2011 Caroline Jane Taig, age 89 of Park Rapids, MN passed away on Oct.21, 2011 at the St. Joseph"s Hospital in Park Rapids. Jane was born Nov. 4, 1921 in Two Harbors, MN to Clytha (Bender) and Clifford Fortman. As a young girl she attended school in Two Harbors and graduated with honors from Two Harbors High School. In 1939, she attended Duluth Teachers College for 2 years, at that time she accepted a position at the Shady Knoll School in Becker Co. On March 28, 1942 she married Harold Taig. Harold was sent to the Army on July 3, 1942, so she continued teaching. When he returned from the service in Oct. of 1945 they made their home in Park Rapids. In 1946, she began her 32 years of teaching service in Park Rapids. Jane finished her four year degree at Bemidji in 1958 graduating first in her class and then completed numerous post-grad courses. During her teaching career she had several ideas for teaching English that were published in Read, a national magazine for English and Literature teachers. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents, Clytha and Clifford; three brothers: Jim, Cliff and Bill and one infant sister, Martha. No services will be held. Jane will be buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors, MN.
