MEMORIAL SERVICES : 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids, MN.VISITATION : 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to the services on Friday.SURVIVORS : His wife, Susie of Nevis, MN; his children: Michael Krull and Paulette "Mimi" Christensen both of Pheonix, AZ; three step-children: Jane (Ryan) Melby of Backus, MN, Todd (Patty) Meech and Troy (Peggy) Meech all of Nimrod; 16 precious grandchildren. LARRY MICHAEL KRULLSeptember 13, 1942 " November 12, 2011 Larry Michael Krull, age 69 of Nevis, MN, formerly of Austin, MN and Brainerd, MN, entered Heaven"s Gate on Saturday night, November 12, 2011. He waged a valiant three year battle against cancer with the assistance of his wife, Susie who was faithfully at his side until Larry"s battle ended in eternal victory. Larry was born on September 13, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to a single mother, Edna Taylor. Edna lovingly gave Larry up for adoption to a wonderful couple, Enno and Orma (Nemitz) Krull. Larry was raised in the Austin, MN area and graduated from the Austin Public High School with the Class of 1961. As a young man he entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country in Germany for three years. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Larry settled in San Francisco, CA where he started the Blue Water Canvas Company. On May 2, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Paulette Grewing at the Nimrod Lutheran Church in Nimrod, MN. This union was blessed with two children: Michael and Paulette "Mimi". They made their home in San Francisco for a number of years. In the late 1990"s Larry moved to Brainerd, MN where he met, Susie (Whitcomb) Meech. They were united in marriage on July 20, 2002 in Nimrod, MN. They made their home near Nevis, MN where Larry continued his work with the Blue Water Canvas Company. In his spare time, Larry loved to landscape numerous yards and remodel homes. He also enjoyed attending the Meech Bucking Bulls Rodeos. Larry was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer in 2008 and beat the odds living a full year longer than the rosiest predictions. Above all, Larry loved his precious soulmate, Susie and often told others "she was the best thing that ever happened to me". He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Susie of Nevis, MN; his children: Michael Krull and Paulette "Mimi" Christensen both of Pheonix, AZ; three step-children: Jane (Ryan) Melby of Backus, MN, Todd (Patty) Meech and Troy (Peggy) Meech all of Nimrod; 16 precious grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids with the Reverend Marty Giese, Rev. Mark Waller and his brother-in-law, Rev. Frank Whitcomb officiating. The organist will be Jane Wolff. Vocalists will be Bill and Jan Lundsten who will sing, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," and "Because He Lives". Larry"s cousin, Patrick Scrimshaw will play "Amazing Grace" on his harmonica. The honorary casket bearers will be: Chuck Church, Jim Giles and Ray Scrimshaw. Military honors will be conducted by the Star of the North Marine Corps League under the direction of Mr. David Free. Following the service a luncheon will be hosted by the Faith Baptist Church for all. A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Fireside Room at Faith Baptist Church on Thursday evening, November 17th from 5 to 8 PM.
