FUNERAL SERVICES : 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at First English Lutheran Church in Dorset, MN with Reverend Chris Davis officiating.VISITATION : 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.INTERMENT : Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids, MNSURVIVORS : Her two sons: Thomas Earl (Karleen) of Port Wing, WI and Glendon Roy (Jane) of Harlingen, TX; three grandchildren: Ann Tjepkema of Duluth, MN, Robert Tjepkema of Nebraska and Richard Tjepkema of Chicago, IL; six great-grandchildren: Andrew, Heather, Daniel and Johannes Tjepkema, Greywind and Cree Boshey; one great, great-granddaughter, Hailey Tjepkema; two sisters: Patricia Stegner of Fort Collins, CO and Vivian Voyles of BlueJay, CA. MARJORIE EDITH TJEPKEMAMay 7, 1918 ~ November 30, 2011 Marjorie Tjepkema, age 93 of Park Rapids, MN peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN. Marjorie Edith Tjepkema was born on May 7, 1918 to Fred W. and Jessie (Easton) Frank in Phillips, WI. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Phillips, WI by Pastor P.W. Hahn on June 15, 1918 and was confirmed on May 31, 1931. She was united in marriage to Jacob Tjepkema at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Phillips, WI on June 8, 1939 by Pastor P.W. Hahn. This union was blessed with two sons: Thomas Earl and Glendon Roy. Before moving to Park Rapids in October of 1992, the family had lived at Norwood, MN for 32 years. They had a cabin on 5th Crow Wing Lake from 1979 to 1998. Marjorie and her husband enjoyed spending their winters in Rockport, TX. She was a woman with a strong and abiding faith. Marjorie was an active member of First English Lutheran Church in Dorset and served as president of L.W.M.L, a member of Mary Circle and Altar Guild. She devoted her life to making a warm and loving home for her husband and sons. She was a wonderful cook and baker, who will long be remembered for her delicious rhubarb cobbler. Marjorie enjoyed spending many hours fishing with her husband. She was also an avid reader. Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Thomas Earl (Karleen) of Port Wing, WI and Glendon Roy (Jane) of Harlingen, TX; three grandchildren: Ann Tjepkema of Duluth, MN, Robert Tjepkema of Nebraska and Richard Tjepkema of Chicago, IL; six great-grandchildren: Andrew, Heather, Daniel and Johannes Tjepkema, Greywind and Cree Boshey; one great, great-granddaughter, Hailey Tjepkema; two sisters: Patricia Stegner of Fort Collins, CO and Vivian Voyles of BlueJay, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jessie; her husband, Jacob; her brothers, Fred W. Frank, Reverend Glendon Frank, James Frank and William Frank. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset, MN with Pastor Chris Davis officiating. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren: Ann and Richard Tjepkema and her great-grandchildren: Daniel Tjepkema, Grey Wind and Cree Boshey. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN.
