SUSAN MARY LARSONOctober 13, 1946 ~ February 12, 2012 Susan Mary Larson, age 65 of Ponsford, MN formerly of Ada, MN unexpectedly entered eternity while at her home on Bad Medicine Lake, north of Park Rapids, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Susan was born on October 13, 1946 in Sherburne, MN to Elmer and Evelyn (Weseman) Rosenberg. It was in the Sherburne area that she attended the rural Martin County country school near her home. As a young woman, Susan worked packing parachutes for the military. She was united in marriage to David Brownlee on July 29, 1964 in Sherburn, MN. This marriage was blessed with 4 children: Mark, Tamara, Troy and Tracy. Susan devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious home cooking. She would often work late into the night sewing clothes for her daughter and knitting gifts for her family and friends. In addition to caring for her family, she also worked in the fabric department in the Ben Franklin store in Ada. She also worked as a cook and waitress at several restaurants. On August 31, 1996, Susan"s life was made complete by her marriage to Corman Lane Larson at their home on Bad Medicine Lake. Her family enlarged to 8 children with the addition of: Loni, Cory, Jana and Kelly. Susan loved to keep busy by sewing, knitting and doing embroidery work. When her health allowed, she enjoyed working outside in her garden. She was a woman of faith and an active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman. Above all, Susan devoted her life to her husband and soulmate, Corman; her children; stepchildren and her grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Corman; children: Mark (Sue) Brownlee of Ada, MN, Tamara Boyce of Linn Creek, MO, Troy (Nancy) Brownlee of Fargo, ND and Tracy (Thomas) Presnell of Grand Forks, ND; step-children: Loni (Randy) Tufton of Ada, MN, Cory (Debbie) Larson of Bemidji, MN, Jana (Dan) Bartholomay of Sheldon, ND and Kelly (Bridget) Larson of Pequot Lakes, MN; 22 grandchildren; sister, Connie Vendetti of Morgan City, CA; sister-in-law, Judy Rosenberg of Freemont, NE; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda; brothers: Jim and Roger and nephew, Doug Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman, MN with Reverend Eddie Hosch officiating. Sue Zick will be the organist. Justin Bartholomay will sing "How Great Thou Art". Congregational hymns will be: "Amazing Grace", "Rock of Ages" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Casketbearers will be: Briana Balzum, Jordan Balzum, Kayla Brownlee, Leah Brownlee, K-Trena Wills, Sean Kittelson, Brooklyn Brownlee, Alexander Wills, Emily Brownlee, Ellis Boyce, Paige Boyce, Jacob Presnell and Morgan Presnell. Honorary casketbearers will be: J.J. Teal, Andy Teal, Ivy Tufton, Leah Bartholomay, Justin Bartholomay, Austin Bartholomay, Dylan Larson, Jessica Nelson and Chase Larson. A luncheon will be hosted for all to attend following the service. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN in the spring.
