MEMORIAL SERVICES : 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, MN. with Rev. Donald Kirchner officiating.VISITATION : 1 hour prior to service at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday.SURVIVORS : His wife, Carol; 3 sons: Alan, Brad (June) and Brian; 7 grandchildren; 7 brothers: Leon (Darlene), Myron, Carroll (Paulette), Vern (Florance), Lloyd (Shelly), Gordy and David (Pam) and 2 sisters, Arlys and Linda (Douglas). ROLAND KAHLSTORFOctober 19, 1939 ~ March 9, 2012 Roland James Kahlstorf, age 72 of Laporte, MN passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the St. Joseph"s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. Roland was born on October 19, 1939 to Orlen and Pernilla (Carson) Kahlstorf in Lake George, MN. He grew up in the Lake George and Laporte areas and started his career of being a millwright contractor. On November 18, 1961, Roland married Carol Boyd. Their union was blessed with 3 sons: Alan, Brad and Brian. The young family moved to Plymouth, MN for 25 years before deciding to move back to Laporte in 1990 where they have resided ever since. Roland raised bison for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was ice fishing, deer hunting or cutting firewood. Roland loved flying and owned his own plane. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, MN. Above all, Roland enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren who he loved with all his heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol; 3 sons: Alan, Brad (June) and Brian; 7 grandchildren; 7 brothers: Leon (Darlene), Myron, Carroll (Paulette), Vern (Florance), Lloyd (Shelly), Gordy and David (Pam); 2 sisters, Arlys and Linda (Douglas); nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. Roland is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, MN with Reverend Don Kirchner officiating. Special music will be "How Great Thou Art" and "Peace in the Valley", all recorded by Elvis Presley. Honorary urnbearers will be: Heather Sherman, Carl Kahlstorf, Grant Kahlstorf, Anna Kahlstorf, Sean Tesch, Taylor Kahlstorf and Hannah Kahlstorf. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
