GRACE MADELINE HENSELJuly 1, 1916 " March 30, 2012 Grace Madeline Hensel, age 95 of Park Rapids, MN formerly of the Tampa, Florida area, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Joseph"s Hospital in Park Rapids. Grace was born on July lst, 1916 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Michael and Angelina (LaBrasca) Camarda. As a child, Grace lived in New Jersey and Pittsburgh, PA where she attended catholic schools. She returned to East Liverpool to complete her high school years and graduated from the East Liverpool Public High School with the Class of 1933. Following her high school years, Grace gained employment working for the County Recorder, a job she enjoyed for a number of years. On March 13, 1941, Grace was united in marriage to Jack Hensel at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit, MI. This union was blessed with one son, Jackie. The young family made their home in Kansas City, Kansas where Grace devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and son. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade Italian dishes. Grace loved the out of doors; especially, when she could be out working in her gardens, nurturing her flowers into colorful splendor for all to see and enjoy. She also enjoyed collecting antique French, German and English porcelain and a variety of antique furniture. Grace"s life was deeply saddened by the unexpected death of her son in 1998 and her husband in 2001. In 2006, Grace ventured to Park Rapids, MN where she has resided since near her sister, Angela McCluhan and her niece, Leah Pigatti. She is a member of the Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis, MN. Grace will be lovingly remembered by her three grandsons: Jack Hensel of Charleston, SC, Jason Wiles of Beverly Hills, CA and Timothy Hensel also of Beverly Hills; her two sisters: Angela McCluhan of Park Rapids and Pauline (Leo) Denne of Lionesville, PA; as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John and husband, Jack. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 8:30 AM Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Our Lady of The Pines Catholic Church in Nevis with Father Duane Pribula officiating and Grace"s niece, Leah Pigatti doing the readings. Visitation will be held beginning at 8 AM at the church. Interment will be made at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, KS next to her son and husband on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10 AM.
