ROY ROBERT MULLENAugust 3, 1940 ~ May 23, 2012 Roy Mullen, age 71 of Menahga, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND. Roy was born on August 3, 1940 to Roy and Lyla (Haverinen) Mullen in Minneapolis, MN. He began his schooling in Minneapolis and continued his education in Menahga when he moved there with his family. As a young man, Roy resided in several places including: Kansas City, MO and Minneapolis, MN. It was in Kansas City where he met and married Betty DcConick. Their union was blessed with two children: Angela and Kenneth. Roy served his country in the United States Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1959. Upon his return to the Minneapolis area, Roy worked as a truck driver, delivering for Totino"s Pizza for many years. He truly enjoyed trucking and traveling. It was in Minneapolis, MN where he became acquainted with Annalee Carlson. The two were married in 1969. The young couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN and then in Menahga, MN in the late 1970"s. Their union was blessed with two children: Cinda and Andrew. On March 20, 1994, Roy"s life was blessed once more with the birth of his youngest son, Craig. Roy enjoyed the out of doors - especially the Duluth area and Lake Superior. Roy will be lovingly remembered by his children: Kenneth (Delana) Mullen of Springfield, MO, Andrew Mullen of Sebeka, MN, Cinda (Ryan) Ritari of Sebeka, MN, Craig Mullen of Menahga, MN; siblings: Vern Mullen of Menahga, MN, Shirley Romero of Princeton, MN, Don Mullen of Menahga, MN; special friend, Annette Junes of Menahga, MN; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Angela. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 3:00 P.M. at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN with Reverend Steven Koehne officiating. A time of visitation will be held starting at 2:00 P.M. until the service at the funeral home on Saturday. A duet, "When I Get Where I'm Going", will be sung by Shana Junes and Trinity Junes. Honorary urnbearer"s will be: Ed Carlson, Curt Marjama, Greg Schilling, Al Dykstra, Dan Ronning, D.J. Sellin, Darin Schilling, Arnie Leritz and Randy Olson. Refreshments will be served following the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Guy L. McDermeit V.F.W. Post #6206 of Menahga.
