JACQUELINE "Jackie" BLAHAMay 22, 1938 ~ July 1, 2012 Jacqueline "Jackie" Blaha, age 74 of Sebeka, MN passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her home near Sebeka, MN. Jackie was born on May 22, 1938 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Elmer and Phyllis (Forsyth) Holm. She attended elementary school in Aberdeen until moving with her family to rural Verndale, MN at the age of 8. She attended country school near her home finishing her schooling at Verndale High School where she graduated with the Class of 1956. On March 9, 1957 Jackie was united in marriage to, the boy next door, Frank "Mick" Blaha at the Central United Methodist Church near Verndale. Their union was blessed with four sons: Paul, Kelly, Jeff and Don. The young family moved to Savage, MN where they made their home for two years until moving to Bloomington, MN in 1963. Jackie worked part time for the Bloomington Schools in the cafeteria and also at the Brown Photography Studio in Bloomington. She took great pride in providing a warm and loving home for her growing family. After ten years in Bloomington they moved to Jordan, MN, southwest of the metro area, where they built a new home. In 1976, Frank and Jackie took a leap of faith and fulfilled a lifelong dream of farming by purchasing a farm south of Sebeka. They worked hard transforming the rocky land into a fertile farm. For 24 years, Jackie assisted her husband, Frank and her son, Jeff in every aspect of the egg production operation. She was bookkeeper, egg grader and head of marketing for the 50,000 chicken operation. They sold the chickens in 2000. She loved life on the farm. She tended many flowers and always grew a large vegetable garden. She persevered much of the garden"s abundance to feed her growing boys. Jackie also kept two jersey cows to provide milk and butter for her family. Jackie loved the out of doors especially when she could be snowmobiling, waterskiing or camping with her family. Jackie was a woman of prayer and had a strong faith in the Lord. She was an active member of the Sebeka United Methodist Church. Above all, Jackie devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Kelly Blaha of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jeff Blaha of Sebeka, MN; two grandchildren: Shane and Nevada; two sisters: Barbara (Jim) Newstrom and Marie "Pinkie" (Dennis) Pulanco and one brother, Richard (Cathy) Holm. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank in 2007; her son Paul in 2007 and her son Donny in 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Sebeka United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Koehne and Reverend Loren Ferch officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church. The organist will be Theresa Horton. The vocalist will be Ray Siebert. Willie Plummer will be the instrumentalist and will play "Jackie"s Song". Casketbearers will be Richard and Cathy Holm, Marie Pulanco, Cindy Garton, Navada Blaha, and Barbara Newstrom.
