FUNERAL SERVICES : 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Pastor John Johannes officiating.VISITATION : 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.INTERMENT : St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Ponsford, MNSURVIVORS : His 2 sons: Kenneth (Brenda) and Mark of Osage, MN and daughter, Susan (Daniel) Potapenko of Burnsville MN, 2 brothers: Maurice (Carol) of Park Rapids, MN and Rueben (Hilma) of Ponsford, MN; sister-in-law, Helen Tretbar of Ponsford, MN; brother-in-law, Keith (Virginia) Terhark of Rosemount, MN; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. LLOYD TRETBARNovember 15, 1929 ~ September 23, 2012 Lloyd Tretbar age 82 of Osage, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at St Joseph"s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN.Lloyd was born on November 15, 1929 to Albert and Mathilda (Bethke) Tretbar in Pine Point Township near Ponsford, MN. Lloyd was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Ponsford. He attended the Andrews and Linnell School where he graduated from the 8th grade in 1944. Lloyd worked on the family farm until January of 1952 when he entered the US Army. He was stationed in Korea during the Korean War after which he was honorably discharged in January of 1954. Lloyd was united in marriage to June Terhark on May 21, 1957 in Detroit Lakes, MN. This union was blessed with 3 children: Kenneth, Mark and Susan. Lloyd worked for Madison Silo Co., Noeske Boat Works, Robertson Lumber Company and Enfield Texaco where he started his career delivering petroleum products. In 1969, he purchased Enfield Texaco and started Lloyds Oil Co. which he operated until 1995 when he sold it to his son, Mark. Lloyd was an active member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Ponsford. He was a charter member of the Osage Lions Club and also a member of the Osage Sportsmens Club. Lloyd started playing music with his brothers at dance halls around the area at a young age. This love of music continued throughout his life. He enjoyed watching the local softball teams, making the trip around the block to check on the crops, helping with any project around the area and listening to old time music. Lloyd is survived by 2 sons: Kenneth (Brenda) and Mark of Osage, MN and daughter, Susan (Daniel) Potapenko of Burnsville MN, 2 brothers: Maurice (Carol) of Park Rapids, MN and Rueben (Hilma) of Ponsford, MN; sister-in-law, Helen Tretbar of Ponsford, MN; brother-in-law, Keith (Virginia) Terhark of Rosemount, MN; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, June; brother, George; sister, Grace and her husband, Chet Schober; nephew, Russell Schober; sister-in-law, Mildred Tretbar and brother-in-law, Ken Terhark. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Pastor John M. Johannes officiating. A luncheon will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Interment will be made in the St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Ponsford, MN. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
