JANET MARIE SCOTTJune 22, 1938 " November 18, 2012 Janet M. Scott, 74, of Park Rapids, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2012 at her home after a long and courageous battle with COPD. She was born to Ralph and Blanche (Stephens) Langguth in Park Rapids on June 22, 1938.She attended school in Park Rapids where she met and fell in love with Gerald Scott. They were united in marriage on June 25, 1955. As an Army wife she spent the early years of her marriage in Arizona, North Carolina, Virginia and France before returning to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1964 to begin their family. In 1972 she returned to Park Rapids where she dedicated herself to raising her three children. Her strength and courage as a single parent were unfaltering. While Jan loved her flower garden and movies, her children and grandchildren were her true passion. She enjoyed every minute she had with them and her greatest satisfaction came from knowing that they were happy and secure. Using words like "hon", "honey" and "sweetie", Jan connected warmly with everyone she knew.Jan was preceded in death by both of her parents, her father-in-law Delmont Scott, her sister Mae Langguth, her husband Gerald Scott and long-time family friend Lavere (Doc) James.She is lovingly remembered and survived by her mother-in-law Leona Scott, sister Judy (Dan) DelGiudice, son Chad (Aubrey) Scott, daughter Alicia Jones, daughter Baleen (Murray) Roberts and Jan"s deeply adored grandchildren Kayla Mae, Amy Lee, Alex and Signe.A celebration of life memorial will be held at Jones-Pearson funeral home on Monday, November 26th from 5:00"8:00 pm.
