ARDYSE LORRAINE "Ardy" DALLAGERJune 13, 1927 " December 17, 2012 Ardyse Lorraine Dallager, age 85 of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Bemidji, MN, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 17, 2012. Ardy was born on June 13, 1927 in Bemidji, MN to Coleman and Elsie Mae (Luense) Love. It was in Bemidji that she attended public schools, graduating from highschool in 1945. As a young woman, Ardy ventured to Minneapolis where she attended nurses training at the Asbury-Hamline School of Nursing and received her Registered Nurse certification in 1948. Ardy was united in marriage to Willie "Bill" Dallager in Bemidji, MN. This union was blessed with two children: David and Joy. Ardy began her nursing career in Minneapolis where she worked for several years until they returned to Bill"s family farm north of Bemidji near Debs, MN. She then gained employment working at the Red Lake Hospital for two years. Ardy rounded out the rest of her nursing career at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji where she worked for a time as a surgical nurse and then cared for inpatients on the third floor for many years. In 1962, she and Bill purchased the Valley Caf at the Kabekona Corner south of Bemidji which they operated together until 1995 when they retired to Park Rapids. In addition to nursing and operating their business, Ardy devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She will be long remembered for her delicious cooking and baking. Ardy was a woman of faith and enjoyed worshipping at the First English Lutheran Church at Dorset where she was a member. In her spare time, Ardy loved to work in her garden, wet a line in her favorite fishing spots, knit and crochet gifts for her family and friends. Ardy"s memory will be cherished by her son, David and her daughter, Joy (Sam) Schmid both of Park Rapids; her precious granddaughter, Belinda Mae "Lindy" of Park Rapids and one grandson, Kenny; her two sisters: Bessie Barrington of Cedartown, GA and Beatrice Murphy of Park Rapids as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ardy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister, Donna Lawrence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset with the Rev. Chris Davis officiating. The organist will be Connie Shubert. The casket bearers will be: Dacle Schmid, Tony Schmid, Terry Phillips, LeRoy Phillips, Lindy Schmid and Bradlyn Daily. Interment will be made in the Evergreen Cemetery north of Laporte, MN. Following the services, a luncheon will be hosted by the lst English Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
