RONALD LEROY NACKDecember 9, 1930 ~ December 26, 2012 Ronald LeRoy Nack, age 82 of Grand Junction, Colorado, formerly of Park Rapids, MN passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.Ron was born on December 9, 1930 to Benjamin and Florence (Fischer) Nack in their home in Alexandria, MN. He attended a Lutheran Parochial School in Alexandria grades 1-8 and went on to attend the local high school where he graduated in 1948. Ron married Norene E. Wegner on October 30, 1949. They had one son, Richard A. Nack who was born on February 15, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. Ron served in the United States Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict; he received the Korean Service Medal, 1 Bronze Service Star " Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal. He worked as a Stationary Steam Engineer at Liquid Carbonic Corporation for 25 years and St. Josephs Hospital in Denver, CO for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron always caught the biggest fish and bagged the deer, elk, moose and antelope. At the age of 81, during his last campout " when he was target practicing, he beat all the young people. Everyone enjoyed listening to his stories around the campfire. Ron will certainly be missed by all who knew him.Ron is survived by his brother, Bud (Maxine); sister-in-law, Dorothy Bradshaw; niece, Louise Johnson and her son, Zach; nephew, Andy Nack; nieces: Susan Richards and Sarah Rosencrans; great nephews: Mitchell Nack, John and Joe Richards; great niece, Brittni Nack; nieces: Jody Kuyava and Pam Wegner; other great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norene and his son, Richard.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 5, 2014 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend James Neubauer officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Bertha, MN.
