LEROY ALBERT "BUD" WETHERBEEJanuary 2, 1920 ~ January 28, 2013 LeRoy Albert "Bud" Wetherbee, age 93, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN.Bud was born on January 2, 1920 in Monticello, MN to Albert and Lena (Oby) Wetherbee. He lived in Minneapolis as a young boy before moving to the Dorset area at the age of 12. He attended the Dorset School until the eighth grade and then went to full time farming until his retirement from dairy farming in 1976. He continued working on the farm for many years driving farm equipment. He married Elaine Nelson on May 1, 1940, in Nevis MN. They were married for 48 years before her passing. Bud married Betty Hewitt Rosetti on June 17, 1989. They were married for 17 years before her passing. He loved to tell stories and spend time with his family especially on the farm.Bud is survived by his children: Russell (Loris) Wetherbee of Brownsville, TX and Nevis, MN and Donna (Dwaine) McCullion of Nevis, MN; stepdaughters: Connie (Roy) Knafla of Bella Vista, AR, Kathy Vruwink of Willmar, MN; step-sister, Violet Watt of Alexandria, MN; four granddaughters: Terrie (Chris) Wagner of Rice, MN, Barbara (Jeff) Schlie of Coon Rapids, MN, Debbie (Nick) Haas of Park Rapids, MN, DeeAnn (Jim) Sanders of Annandale MN; step-grandchildren: Tony (Dana) Vruwink of Spicer, MN and Pam Vruwink of Willmar, MN; great grandchildren and great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elaine; his wife Betty and one sister Helen.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at First English Lutheran Church in Dorset, MN with Reverend Chris Davis officiating.
