MARGARET BEATRICE BROSEMarch 7, 1918 ~ March 16, 2013 Margaret Beatrice (Smith) Brose, daughter of John Henry and Alena (Mattison) Smith, was born on March 7, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended school and graduated from Bemidji High School on May 30, 1935 in Bemidji, MN. Margaret was united in marriage to Herman A. Brose on August 16, 1936 at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Bemidji. They moved to rural Park Rapids where they lived and retired. They were blessed with 4 children in their union. Margaret was very active in many organizations: Mantrap Valley Conservation Club, Park Rapids Hospital Auxiliary, Emmaville Bible Chapel Class and the Park Rapids Womens Christian Fellowship. She was employed by Aqua Park and the Sears store in Park Rapids. She loved to sew, bake and spend time with her children and grandchildren. After Herman"s death in 1992, Margaret moved to Park Rapids and lived with her son, Dean and his family until 2010 when she fell and fractured her pelvis and has lived in an assisted living home until her passing.Margaret is survived by her 2 sons: Dean (Katherine) Brose of Park Rapids, MN and Dave (Carol) Brose of Grand Forks, ND; her 2 daughters: Eileen (James) Fetterly of Jerome, ID and Kathleen Brose of Park Rapids, MN; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman; 2 grandsons: John Murphy and Ken Smith; sister, Ednah McQueeney and brother, Alfred Smith.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Marty Giese officiating. The casketbearers will be her grandchildren. The honorary casketbearers will be her great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and for one hour prior to the service on Friday. A luncheon will be hosted at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids following the service.
