FUNERAL SERVICES : 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids with Father Thomas Friedl officiating.VISITATION : 6-8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.INTERMENT : St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Cemetery, Park Rapids, MNSURVIVORS : His wife, Claudia; his daughter, Becky (Jim Schmidt) Todd of Canby, MN, his four sons: Dennis (Elke) Todd of Olympia, WA, Alan (Paula) Todd of Littleton, CO, Jon (Kristi) Todd of Grand Rapids, MI and Ricky (Kelli) Todd of New Brighton, MN; his 12 dearly loved grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. PAUL L. TODDJanuary 26, 1938 " April 9, 2013 Paul L. Todd, age 75 of Nevis, MN, passed away suddenly at his home with his loving wife at his side on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.Paul was born on January 26, 1938 to John and Lenora (Suiter) Todd in Wichita, Kansas. It was in McPherson, KS where Paul received his public education, graduating from high school with the Class of 1956. As a young man, Paul worked for his father in the family newspaper business. Later, he ventured northward and settled in the Park Rapids, MN area where his parents ran a resort on Eagle Lake north of Park Rapids. Paul continued in his newspaper career and gained employment with the Bemidji Pioneer for a number of years. On July 16, 1960, he was united in marriage to Claudia Elizabeth Hinton at St. Peters Catholic Church in Park Rapids. This union was blessed with five children: Dennis, Becky, Alan, Jon and Ricky. Later, Paul worked for the Fargo Forum and the Thief River Falls Newspapers. After commuting the long distances to work, Paul decided to make a career change and began working construction in his father-in-law and brother-in-law"s business, Hinton Construction for a number of years. He later accepted the position of head custodian at the Park Rapids Middle school. Paul also worked for the Park Rapids Post Office and operated the Todd Printing Company out of his home for a time. For the last 16 years of his working career, Paul drove truck both nationwide and helping haul for the local potato harvest. In his spare time, Paul was an avid and skilled bowler who participated for many years on the Men"s Bowling League of which he served as its secretary-treasurer. He competed and won many bowling tournaments. He also enjoyed golfing when time allowed. Paul enjoyed working with his hands making grandfather clocks and helping his wife raise beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to enjoy.Paul will be lovingly remembered by his precious wife for these past 53 years, Claudia; his daughter, Becky (Jim Schmidt) Todd of Canby, MN, his four sons: Dennis (Elke) Todd of Olympia, WA, Alan (Paula) Todd of Littleton, CO, Jon (Kristi) Todd of Grand Rapids, MI and Ricky (Kelli) Todd of New Brighton, MN; his 12 dearly loved grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many Friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and l brother, John.Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids with Father Tom Friedl officiating. The music will be led by the Alleluia Choir. Casket bearers will be Paul"s grandsons: Steven Todd, Tyler Todd, Brandon Todd, Aiden Todd, Dennis Todd, Jr., Drew Murphy, Dale Murphy, Garrett Todd and Jonathon Todd. Interment will be made in the St. Peters Catholic Church Cemetery east of Park Rapids. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday, April 12, 2013 at the church and for one hour prior to the service also at the church on Saturday. Following the service a light lunch reception will be held for all hosted by the church.
