FUNERAL SERVICES : 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Baxter, MN.2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, MN.VISITATION S : One hour prior to each of the services.INTERMENT : Minneopa Cemetery, Mankato, MN.SURVIVORS : Her husband, Howard; four grandchildren: Jessica Albrecht of London, England, Adam (Leah) Van Albrecht of St. Paul, MN, Eva (Brandon) Blanchard of Moorhead, MN and Laura (Elisha) Dwyer of Breezy Point, MN; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Doris Jones of Mankato, MN; sister-in-law, Peggy Roberts of New Ulm, MN. Loris R. Williams, age 92 of Brainerd, MN, formerly of the Nevis and Park Rapids, MN areas and prior to that the new Ulm/Mankato/Lamberton, MN areas, entered heaven for all eternity with all the peace and grace given to her by her Loving Lord and Savior, Jesus in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 11, 2013 with her faithful husband, Howard at her side. Loris was born on January 10, 1921 in New Ulm, MN to Evan and Eva (Davis) Roberts. It was in New Ulm that Loris attended public school graduating from the New Ulm Public High School with the Class of 1939. She went on to attend Business College in Mankato, MN. As a young woman, Loris gained employment working as a bookkeeper for the Carney Cement Company in Mankato. Loris was united in marriage to Howard Williams, who had returned home from World War II after being overseas for 4 straight years, on February 14, 1946. This union was blessed with a son, John. Loris devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and son. She loved being a housewife and mother. The young couple made their home in Mankato until moving to Lamberton, MN in 1949. In 1963, Loris accepted a position working for Dr. Morton Roan, assisting him in all areas of his practice. In 1970, she and Howard became part-owners in of the Williams-MacArthur Company, a farm equipment and Ford Automobile dealership. Loris worked along side Howard, helping with all aspects of the bookkeeping. She endured the deep pain of losing her only son in a tragic automobile accident in 1972. In 1982, they retired and moved to their lake home on Little Sand Lake near Park Rapids, MN. Later, they moved to a home on Lake Belle Taine near Nevis where they made their home until 1995. In May of 2004, Loris and Howard moved to the Arbor Glen Apartments in Baxter, MN. In 2009, they became residents of the Good Samaritan Society, Woodland Campus in Brainerd, MN. Loris was a long time and active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Nevis. Currently, she and Howard were members of the First Baptist Church in Baxter, MN. Loris will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Howard who she spent 67 wonderful years with; four grandchildren: Jessica Albrecht of London, England, Adam (Leah) Van Albrecht of St. Paul, MN, Eva (Brandon) Blanchard of Moorhead, MN and Laura (Elisha) Dwyer of Breezy Point, MN; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Doris Jones of Mankato, MN; sister-in-law, Peggy Roberts of New Ulm, MN as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her only son, John in 1972; brother, Eldred "Barry" Roberts; a nephew Neal Jones and a special friend Charlie Albrecht. Funeral services will be held 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Baxter, MN with the Reverend David Grotzke officiating. Dave Wagner will be the organist. Great granddaughter, Molly Blanchard will sing, "Amazing Grace" and Rev. & Mrs Wayne Erickson will sing, "Draw Me Nearer Precious Lord" and "What A Day, Glorious Day That Will Be". A second service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, MN with the Reverend Wayne Erickson officiating. The organists will be Holly Havemeier. Nephew, Bob Williams will sing, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and Great granddaughter, Molly Blanchard will sing."Amazing Grace". Visitations will be held for one hour prior to both of the services at the churches. Interment will be held at the Minneopa Cemetery near Mankato, MN. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren: Jessica Albrecht, Adam and Leah Van Albrecht, Eva and Brandon Blanchard and Laura and Elisha Dwyer.
