MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 10, 2013 at Macalester Plymouth United Church, St.Paul, MNVISITATION :1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday August 3, 2013 at the Jones Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, Mn with a Prayer at 1:30 P.M. Austin Jule Stibbe, Nevis, MN, formerly of Mendota Heights, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2013 at the age of 83. Raised in Saint Paul, MN, he was a graduate of Cretin High School and the University of Minnesota. After serving as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a CPA. He was active in many organizations, including the Twin Cities Council of the Navy League, where he served as president, MN Society of CPAs, Heritage Community of Park Rapids, Boy Scouts, and Norske Torske Klubben. A friend to everyone he met, he was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and ability to tell a story. He most cherished his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Jule Stibbe. Survived by beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (King); children, Anne (Bill) Babcock, Craig (Jane), David (Jane), and Karen (Brian) Bebel; grandchildren Joe (Chrissy), Stephen (Erika), Michael (Chiara), and Charles (Nikki) Babcock, Kevin and Aileen Stibbe, Austin and Maren Stibbe, Kayla, Mari, and Jack Bebel; and eleven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. with a prayer at 1:30 P.M. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 10 at Macalester Plymouth United Church, 1658 Lincoln Avenue, Saint Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
