DODGEJUNE 19, 1923 - DECEMBER 5, 2013 Ethel R. Dodge, age 90, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on December 5, 2013, at the Essentia Care Hospital in Fargo, ND. Ethel was born on June 19, 1923 to Ferdinand and Lillian (Lindemann) Nimmerfroh on a farm near Avoca, MN. At the age of five her family moved into Avoca where her father began working for Murray County. Ethel was educated in Avoca and Slayton, MN. In 1940, Ethel married Robert H. Dodge and the settled in Minneapolis, MN. After WWII the couple moved back to Avoca. In 1950, they moved back to Minneapolis where Ethel worked in the printed circuit industry as a photo tech. Ethel retired in 1971, moving to their home on Big Deep Lake in Hackensack, MN where they lived until 1993, and then they moved to Park Rapids, MN.Ethel was a woman of strong Catholic faith. She was a long time member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN and St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN.Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Raymond and Arnie, her infant son, Harold; her husband Bob in 1999 and great grandson, Nicolas Yaden.Ethel is survived by her loving sister: Mickey Schmidt, Iona, MN; her four sons: Bob (Mary) of Park Rapids, MN; Harry (Janice) of Ventura, California; Mike of HI; Dennis (Michelle) of Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Father Thomas Friedl officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Casketbearers will be her sons: Bob, Harry and Dennis and her nephew, Rick Schmit. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Annette Haas will be singing "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Special music will be "We Believe". Interment will be at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Park Rapids.
