FUNERAL SERVICES : 1:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Hubbard United Methodist Church, Hubbard, MN VISITATION : Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, January 16th at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. Visitation will also be held beginning one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.INTERMENT : GreenLawn Cemetery, Verndale, MN SURVIVORS : September 8, 1928 that spanned more than 40 years. The sisters took their first teaching job in the same small one room country school house. Lucile continued her education, taking summer classes and attending night school at Bemidji State College eventually earning her bachelors degree. She was united in marriage to C. John Lieder on June 10, 1949 in Long Prairie, MN. The young couple made their first home on the farm in Woodside Township near Bertha, MN. Later, they ventured to Southern MN where Lucile gained employment with the Medford Public School system as an elementary teacher. In 1954, they returned to their home area and settled in Wadena, MN where Lucile continued her career as a lst grade teacher. She loved the outdoors; especially when she could be out in her garden nurturing her vegetables into fruitful abundance to can and share with her family and friends. She enjoyed raising beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to see. Lucile enjoyed doing handcrafts; especially, knitting, crocheting and doing needle point on plastic canvas. She was a member of the Wadena United Methodist Church for many years and started their church quilting circle, which still uses many of her designs in their quilting projects today. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Parkinsons Support Group in Wadena where she shared information monthly for a number of years. In June of 1999, Lucile and John moved to Park Rapids where they made their home at the Summerfield Place Apartments. She was active in the Hubbard United Methodist Church in Hubbard as long as her health allowed. Above all, Lucile was a devoted wife to her husband, John and also loved the rest of her family with all her heart.She will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Harold Goepferd of Bertha, MN and her sister-in-law, Agnes Marsh of Long Prairie, MN; her two very special nieces, Cindy Goepferd of Bertha, MN and Norma (Al) Tramm of Cold Spring, MN; a special nephew, Wayne (Cathy) Goepferd of Watertown, South Dakota; two great nieces: Monica (Corry) Goepferd of Worland, WY and Linda Tramm of Plymouth, MN; her two great nephews: Philip (Sabrina) Tramm of St. Cloud and Tim (Heather) Tramm of Sartell; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2006; her twin sister, Louise in 2009; her sister, Marge Goepferd in 2012 and her brother-in-law, Jack in 2002.Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Hubbard United Methodist Church with Reverend Laurie Kantonen officiating. The casket bearers will be: Wayne Goepferd, Al Tramm, Philip Tramm, Monica Goepferd, Linda Tramm and Tim Tramm. Following a lunch served by the Hubbard United Methodist Church, the burial will take place in the Greenlawn Cemetey in the plot Lucile and John share with Louise and Jack LaBonte. Visitation will be held from 4 -7 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and for one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
