FUNERAL SERVICES : 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hubbard United Methodist Church, Hubbard, MN with 1 hour visitation prior to service. INTERMENT : Hubbard Cemetery SURVIVORS : MARGARET MARIE MANLOVE December 5, 1934 " November 23, 2013 Margaret Marie Manlove, age 78, a life long Park Rapids, MN area resident, received eternal healing as she entered her heavenly home on Saturday, November 23, 2013, as she died unexpectedly in her home in Park Rapids.Margaret was born on December 5, 1934 in Todd Township of Hubbard County, MN to Roy and Alice (Dickinson) Stevens. Her family moved to a farm in Hubbard township when she was 7 years of age. She graduated from the Park Rapids Public High School with the Class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Winston Lee Manlove on May 2, 1954. This marriage was blessed with three children: Steven, LeAnne and Amy. Margaret dedicated herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade suet pudding, bread and gravy, noodles and fried fish. She would often work late into the night sewing clothes for her growing family. Margaret would plant a large vegetable garden each spring which she would nurture into fruitful abundance to preserve for her growing family. In addition to caring for her family, Margaret also worked for a time at Brackens Caf in Park Rapids. She served as a bookkeeping clerk for the Creamery. She also worked as a seamstress for the Munsingwear Company where she developed good sewing skills. She worked in the Hubbard County Court House, first in the Assessors Office and then in the Auditors Office for a total of ten years. Each year she would prepare the County Financial Statement and her work was very much appreciated by the State Auditors Office. Even though she enjoyed her career with the county, her family was more important, so she became a stay at home mom. Her main focus, in addition to caring for her family, was serving the Lord. She was a life long active member of the Hubbard United Methodist Church. She taught a women"s Bible study for over ten years. She loved to read the Bible to her children and help them memorize scripture. She enjoyed singing and had begun solo work in church at the tender age of 12 years. She loved singing in the church choir. Each summer she enjoyed venturing into the woods to pick blueberries. When she was younger she enjoyed raising beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to see and enjoy. She was known throughout the neighborhood for knitting caps and mittens for all the area children. She also crocheted many beautiful doilies she gifted to friends and family. In her spare time she enjoyed hunting for bargains at garage sales. She loved working with her neighbors and was always thankful for the blessings God bestowed on her.She will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Steven (Sandra) Manlove of Fargo, ND, LeAnne (Mark) Manlove Lerner of Portland, Oregon and Amy (Dan) Rogers of Marshfield, WI; 7 precious grandchildren: Eric, Vanessa, Zac, Mary, Sam, Madelyn and Levi; and one brother, Robert (Liz) Stevens of Park Rapids.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Winston in 2003.Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Hubbard United Methodist Church with Rev. Laurie Kantonen officiating. The pianist will be Cheryl Steinborn. The Church Choir will sing, "Amazing Grace". The casket bearers will be Eric Manlove, Dale Stevens, Keith Manlove, Dan Rogers, Ken Dickinson and Dennis Bolton. The honorary casket bearers will be the rest of her grandchildren: Zac Schauer, Vanessa Manlove, Madelyn Rogers, Levi Rogers, Mary Lerner and Sam Lerner. Interment will be made in the Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.
