Frances Lillian Danielson

Frances Lillian Danielson age 95, peacefully entered eternity on Saturday morning, March 22, 2014 at the St. Josephs Hospital in Park Rapids with her loved ones at her side. Frances was born on June 21, 1918 at Little Rock, Iowa to Rudolph and Tena (Terhark) Mulder. She grew up in Ellsworth, MN where she attended public school, graduating with the high school class of 1936. Frances went on to attend Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis. She then ventured to Cedar Falls, Iowa where she attended teachers training at the Iowa State Teachers College. Upon completion of her coursework, Frances began teaching at a rural school near Little Rock, IA for five years. On July 1, 1943, Frances was united in marriage to a handsome young soldier, Carl Heeren in Yuma, AZ. After he left for over seas duty, she returned to make her home in Little Rock until Carl returned safely home from WWII. In February of 1958, the Heeren family moved to Park Rapids, MN where they purchased and operated the Heeren's Resort on Fish Hook Lake for a number of years. From 1961 - 1963 they made their home in Brookings, SD. Upon returning to Park Rapids, Frances continued caring for her family, helping with the resort and also worked as a nurses aid at the St. Josephs Hospital. Later, she began working as a teacher's aid at Park Rapids Public Schools. It was then that she decided to return to college full-time to get her degree in elementary education. She graduated from Bemidji State College in 1970. Frances taught third grade at the Frank White School in Park Rapids for ten years, until her retirement in 1980. Frances endured the heartache of losing her husband, Carl in April of 1972. She was married to Ray Danielson on December 27, 1977 in Park Rapids. After retiring, they enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona and Texas. Ray preceded Fran in death in March of 1990 in Texas. She continued spending her winters in Texas for a number of years. Frances was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids where she enjoyed singing in the choir and in a ladies trio called, "The Faith Notes". She will be lovingly remembered by her six children: Bob (Joanne) Heeren of Scottsdale, AZ, Paul (Barb) Heeren and Barb (John) Rogers all of Henderson, NV, Jim (Pam) Heeren and Peggy (Jim Talbot) Heeren all of Park Rapids, MN and Alan (Lori) Heeren of Northwood, IA; two step-children: Janice (Bill) Lundsten of Nevis, MN and Dwayne Danielson of Thief River Falls, MN; 15 dearly loved grandchildren and 13 precious great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one brother, Ralph and one granddaughter, Sara. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids. The soloist will be Lefty Anderson, who will sing, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". Frances's grandchildren will serve as her casket bearers. Visitation will begin at the church beginning one hour prior to her service. A luncheon will be hosted by the church following the service. Her interment service will be held at the Pleasantview Cemetery in Little Rock, IA on Saturday, May 17 at 1 PM. Prior to that there will be a visitation held at the Salem Reform Church in Little Rock beginning at 11 AM.
