Kathryn LaVonne Manlove, 85, of Hubbard has gone to her heavenly home after passing away peacefully at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menagha, MN, May, 9th 2014. Kathryn was born Feb 2nd, 1929, to Clint C. and Minnie (Christensen) Manlove. She graduated from Park Rapids High School and the St Paul Bible College. She later graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She lived in Two Harbors, MN, and taught Fourth Grade at John A. Johnson Elementary School, for 40 years before retiring in 1994. It was at this school that she met long time friend and room mate Phoebe Anderson. After retiring, Kathryn and Phoebe returned to Hubbard, MN and became active in the Hubbard Methodist Chuch. Kathryn was very active in the First Baptist Church of Two Harbors, serving as a Deacon, Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher. She was a commander in the AWANA organization, and coordinated Vacation Bible School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Winston and his wife Margaret; and her brother Paul. She is survived by her brother Dick (JoAnn) of Long Prairie, Paul's wife Gail of Hubbard, nine nieces and nephews (Dick's children Jill and Jason; Winston's children Steve, LeAnne and Amy; Paul's children Ken, Anne, Keith and Kelly) 13 great nieces and nephews and long time friend Phoebe Anderson A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 13th at 11:00 AM at the Hubbard United Methodist Church. Pastor Ed Poitras officiated the service. A visitation was held Monday May 12th from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
