Nancy Ardell Polman, age 74, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Princeton, MN, entered her heavenly home on May 13, 2014 after a short battle with lung cancer. Family took loving care of her and were by her side at her home in Park Rapids. Nancy was born in Virginia, MN on January 31, 1940 to Ivar and Lillian (Eilola) Schelde. She grew up in the Cook, MN area where she attended public schools. She was united in marriage to Morris Polman on June 29, 1957 and this union was blessed with five children: Cynthia, Douglas, David, Stephanie and Daniel. In 1959, the young family moved to the twin cities where Morris began a career in drywall construction. In 1974, they moved with their growing family to the Princeton, MN area where they made their home until their retirement in 1998 when they moved to Park Rapids, MN. Nancy devoted her life to her children and grandchildren whom she cared for and loved dearly. She loved good conversation and was a woman with a lot of spunk and "sisu". She will be dearly missed by all. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Cynthia Kangas of Park Rapids, David Polman of Perham, Stephanie (Jason) Palmer and Daniel Polman all of Park Rapids; six beloved grandchildren and six precious great grandchildren; three sisters: Lillian Luepke of Minneapolis, MN, Audrey Bakk of Cook, MN, and Coralie (Pete) Hakala of Auburn, WA; one brother, Martin Schelde of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters-in-law: Dolores Riley of Park Rapids and Jan Polman of Waskom, TX; brother-in-law, Jim (Joyce) Polman of Schreveport, LA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris; and her son, Douglas, who died tragically in 1980.
