Warren Clark Breezee, Jr., age 67, a Chaska, MN area resident, formerly from the Park Rapids, MN area, died unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids on Saturday, June 7, 2014 while at his lake home near Park Rapids. Warren was born on December 8, 1946 in Park Rapids to Warren and Mary (Kary) Breezee. He attended public school in Park Rapids and Ortonville, MN, graduating from the Ortonville High School with the Class of 1964. After graduating, Warren served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1965 - 1969. He was stationed at the Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota where he served as a pharmacy tech. On September 24, 1966, Warren was united in marriage to Phyllis Sandman at the St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, MN. This union was blessed with one son, Gerrod. After receiving his honorable discharge, Warren attended Junior College in Willmar, MN and then went on to earn his bachelors degree in law enforcement and sociology from Mankato State University. In 1973, he began a career in law enforcement working for the City of Chaska Police Department in a career that spanned over 26 years and earned him the position of Detective Sargent. In 1977, Warren and Phyllis purchased some primitive lake property north of Park Rapids on Pickeral Lake. They worked hard in developing this unimproved lake shore into a beautiful year round home. Warren enjoyed spending time at the lake; fishing, hunting, and just relaxing. Since 2001, Warren and Phyllis have escaped the Minnesota winters at their condo in LaBelle, FL. He was a member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids. Above all, Warren enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He especially treasured the time he could enjoy with his granddaughter, Braxton. Warren will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Gerrod of Pemberton, MN and his precious granddaughter, Braxton Rose; his two brothers: Ted (Sheila) Breezee of Detroit Lakes, MN and Clayton (Donna) Breezee of Atwater, MN; his sister-in-law, Barbara (Gary) Degn and his brother-in-law, William Sandman all of Hutchinson; as well as his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Warren was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 PM Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids with Father Tom Friedl officiating. The Alleluia Choir will lead the music. The casket bearers will be: Greg Schol, John DuBois, Gary Degn, William Sandman, Clyde Hazelton, Jon Kehrberg and LeRoy Rausch. Interment will be made in the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Park Rapids. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 PM on Monday at the church.
