ANTHONY "Tony" DAVID AHO October 20, 1967 - June 23, 2014 Anthony David Aho, age 46, of North Branch, MN formerly of Menahga, MN, entered eternity on June 23, 2014 at his home near Stanchfield, MN. Tony was born on October 20, 1967 in Park Rapids, MN to Elias and Hazel (Koskela) Aho. He attended public school in Menahga where he was an outstanding athlete. He graduated from the Menahga Public High School with the Class of 1986 and went on to attend Bemidji State University where he earned his bachelors degree in education. He continued his higher education at Hamline University where he earned his Masters degree. Tony was united in marriage to Rhonda Pearl Orth on April 21, 1990 in Pine River, MN. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters: Megan Jayna and Jenna Lee. Tony taught high school physical education and health in a career that spanned over 20 years. He taught for a brief time in the Menahga School District and then the majority of his time at the North Branch Public High School. Tony loved to coach wrestling and did this most of his teaching career. He was a great mentor to his students and was an incredibly giving person who would give anyone the shirt off his back. Tony loved the Lord and was not afraid to share his faith with others. He loved worshipping at the New Hope Community Church in Cambridge, MN. He also had a deep interest in and love for horses and enjoyed the family times centered around ranch rodeos and team penning events. He also enjoyed spending time gardening, golfing, hunting, fishing, playing softball and fellowshipping with his church family and friends. His family is comforted in the pain of his leaving in knowing that because of what Jesus did on the cross for all of us he is resting safely today in the arms of his Lord and Savior. He will be lovingly remembered by his precious wife, Rhonda; his dearly loved daughters: Megan and Jenna; his parents: Elias and Hazel Aho of Menahga; siblings: Catherine (Karl) Sagedahl of East Bethel, MN, Daniel (Lori) Aho of Harris, MN, and Pamela Aho of Blaine, MN; his grandmother, Elsie (Mummu) Aho of Wolf Lake, MN; his parents-in-law, Marlin and Jane Orth of Pine River, MN; Brothers-in-law, Rod (Chris) Orth and Richard Orth all of Pine River, MN; Sisters-in-law: Renae (Jeff) Rotz of Big Lake, MN and Mary Aho of North Branch; his much loved nieces and nephews: Tarah (Derek) Nolan, Lindsay and Trent Sagedahl, Amber (Kyle) Aho, Sammy and Brie Aho, Thomas and Kelsey Kinsella, Ryan and Erica Rothmeyer, Carlie (Mitch) Olson and Logan, Randi Olson, Travis Orth, Caila (Bryant) Chuck and Brady, Tanner and Alexis Orth, Rebekkah, Jakob, Jayna and Daniel Rotz as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his big brother, Robert Elias Aho and his grand parents: Hugo Elias Aho and William and Ethel Koskela. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church near Wolf Lake with the Reverend Dennis Hannu and Reverend Don Salo officiating. The vocalists will be Derek Nolan who will sing, "Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone", and Kaleb James who will sing "There Will Be A Day". Deborah Aho will serve as the organist. The casket bearers will be: Daniel Aho, Karl Sagedahl, Rod Orth, Rich Orth, Don Block, Jeff Rotz, Robert Fisher and Ed Oehlers. The honorary casket bearers will be his nieces and nephews. Interment will be made in the Balmi Cemetery near Wolf Lake. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church near Wolf Lake and again on Monday morning beginning one hour prior to the funeral service. A prayer service will be held 7 PM Sunday with Rev. Bill Berg from Cambridge, MN officiating.
