ERNSTINE ANN "Tooty" CONDIFF February 17, 1931 - August 9, 2014 Ernstine Ann "Tooty" Condiff, age 83, of Park Rapids, MN formerly of Brainerd and Grand Rapids, MN, was peacefully called to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN with her husband, Don at her side. Tooty was born on February 17, 1931 in Clear Lake, South Dakota to Alvin and Emma (Wenzel) Jahn. She was born during the toughest days of the depression and times were lean so her family moved to a farm near Grand Rapids when she was just three years of age. It was in this area that she attended public schools, graduating from the Coleraine High School and growing into womanhood. She went on to attend the Minneapolis School of Business upon completion of her studies, she gained employment working at the iron mines as a secretary. While working there she met and later married Robert Peters. They were blessed with a son, Terrance. When her son was just ten years old Robert passed away leaving her to raise her young son on her own. Later she met and fell in love with Donald Condiff from Brainerd. They were married on October 11, 1969. Don had lost his wife a short time earlier and was left with three small children of his own-so they blended their families together into one happy family. They made their home in Brainerd until Don retired from the phone company. They then moved to a home near Park Rapids, MN. Tooty was a strong Christian woman who enjoyed being a part of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids where she was an active part of the Ladies Aid. She also loved to make beautiful quilts and tend to a garden each year. Don and Tooty especially enjoyed fishing the area lakes together and traveling thoughout the lower 48 states and Alaska. In May of 2011, Tooty was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and became a resident of the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home. She possessed a wonderfully sweet spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband for these past 45 years, Don of Park Rapids; her son, Terrance (Christy) Peters of Wheaton, MN; two step-daughters: Cheryl (Dale) Anderson of Ely, MN and Patti (Neal) Nelson of Mesa, AZ; and step-daughter-in-law: Debbie Condiff of Brainerd, MN; ten dearly loved grandchildren; Bradley, Keith, Steven, Justin, Jenna, Megan, Nicholas, Krista, Sean, and Andrew; seven precious great grandchildren; Tessa, Callie, Bella, Ryker, Nolan, Emmitt and Autumn; her sister, Urbelle (David) Peters; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Tooty was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Peters; her parents; her step-son, Timothy who died in 2011 and one brother, Alan. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
