Carlene Negaard Day

CARLENE NEGAARD DAY April 20, 1939 - September 7, 2014 Carlene Negaard Day, age 75, of Park Rapids, MN, died of ARDS on September 7, 2014 at the Essentia Health Medical Center in Fargo. Carlene was born on April 20, 1939 in St. Cloud, MN to Marcella and Sherman Negaard where she was raised and educated. She worked as a secretary at the Northwestern National Bank in Minneapolis for several years, moved to Denver, CO and worked as a secretary for the Martin Marietta Corp. She married Tracy Day on February 16, 1962 in Colorado, where they lived until 1965. They have resided in the Park Rapids area since then. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset. Carlene and her husband have spent the last several winters in Branson, MO where she enjoyed attending shows and the warmer winters. Carlene is survived by her husband, Tracy; one daughter, Michelle (Rob) Albrecht of the Twin Cities; one son, Steven (Kimberly) Day of Grand Rapids, MN; one sister, Susan (Al) Torkelson of Cambridge, MN; one brother, Tom (Kay) Negaard of Akeley; two grandsons: Ryan and Travis; one niece, Aleta (Mark) Bierma of Sioux Falls, SD and one nephew, Shawn (Wendy) Torkelson of Woodland Park, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert. Private family Graveside services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids.
