Scott was born on January 11, 1976 in Park Rapids, MN to David and June (Sandberg) Gartner. It was in Park Rapids that Scott attended public schools and grew into manhood. As a boy, Scott enjoyed working on his Grandpa Gartner's farm, learning how to build and repair fences, plant trees, and operate equipment. As a young man, he worked as a landscaper for a number of years and was very talented and demanding of himself in this work. Scott has also worked for RDO Farms for the past several years. He was a gifted artist and loved to draw detailed and beautiful pictures of wildlife, horses, cattle and deer. Scott also developed his talents in wood burning artistry. He was a soft spoken man with a generous; but, tender heart who felt intense emotions of love and pain. He possessed a poet's heart.
