LAVONNE E. CUNNINGHAM June 13, 1930 - December 31, 2014 LaVonne E. Cunningham, age 84, of Franklin, MN, formerly of Ottertail, Park Rapids and Bemidji, MN, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Franklin Care Center in Franklin, MN. LaVonne was born on June 13, 1930 to Floyd and Isobel Cunningham. She was born with special needs and early in her life was institutionalized for a period of time. Later in her life she was transitioned into community living at a REM foster home in Bemidji. In spite of LaVonne's hardships and trials she lived her life very happily always seeing the good and not dwelling on the bad. Throughout her life, LaVonne loved to take rides through the countryside, wearing stylish hats, stuffed animals of all types and eating Hershey chocolate and pickles. She loved being around people and enjoyed working at the Bemidji DAC. She always appreciated the care she received at the nursing homes she lived at. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents and other family members and is survived by her friends and caregivers. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, January 15 at the Community Center in Ottertail, MN with Rev. Art Wood officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery of Park Rapids, MN.
