Marvin Vincent Hepola 1928-2015 Marvin "Marv" Hepola, age 86, of Park Rapids, died peacefully on February 6, 2015 at Heritage Cottages. He was born July 6, 1928 in Sebeka, the youngest of five, to John J. and Lempi M. (Lohi) Hepola. Marvin is a 1946 graduate of Sebeka High School. He attended Hibbing Junior College and the University of Minnesota. He then joined his father in a turkey and dairy farm operation. In 1951 he was drafted during the Korean Conflict. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp until 1953. He married Geraldine P. Kirsch on July 19th, 1952. To this union six children were born. In 1958 they moved to Wisconsin where he worked as a Turkey Field Serviceman for Cargill, Inc. In 1961 he joined State Farm Insurance as an agent in Sebeka, later moving to Detroit Lakes until his retirement in 1992. They relocated to Park Rapids in 2002. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Donald, Mildred and Bernice. He is survived by his wife Geraldine; children Ron (Beth) of Hutchinson, Bill (Barb) of Galena, IL, David (Andrea) of Duluth, Jayne (Peter) Thielen of Detroit Lakes, Jim (Lisa) of Canfield, OH, Jan (Mary) of Deer Park, WI; sister Irene Bronken of Minnetonka; sister-in-law Sally Hepola of Menagha. Marvin has 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in July at the Mantyla Cemetery in Sebeka.
