Zappa Floyd Harvala

Zappa Floyd Harvala, the precious 16 month old son of Garrett Harvala and Cara Paulson, died tragically from injuries sustained when struck by a car at his home southeast of Park Rapids. He instantly entered the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus in heaven. Zappa was born on March 16, 2014 in Detroit Lakes, MN. He possessed a heart filled with joy and his giggles and smiles were never ending. He loved his big dog, Tranny, who was his best friend. Zappa loved music and whenever he heard a good song he would wiggle his little butt and hold his hand high in the air. He also loved to play in water; it didn't matter if it was in the bathtub or a mud puddle or directly out of the hose. Zappa loved playing with balls of all shapes and sizes. He loved to be outside whenever he could and played with a high non- stop level of enthusiasm and energy. He loved to ride in the big John Deere tractors with his grandpa and uncles. Zappa also loved rides in the car and going to his Aunt Cindy's house to play with her day care kids. But most of all, Zappa's pure and innocent heart was full of love for his mommy and daddy. Zappa will be forever remembered by his loving mommy and daddy; his maternal grandmother, Susan (Peter) Pickett of Park Rapids; his paternal grandparents, Randy and Tina Harvala of Osage, MN; paternal great grandparents: Floyd and Irene Harvala of Menahga, MN and John and Joyce Mikesh of Park Rapids; his maternal great grandfather, Mike Kiefert of Menahga; his three aunts: Cindy (Jason) Horton of Menahga, Karen (Phil Skaro) Harvala of Osage and Amanda (Trevor Henrickson) Harvala of Park Rapids; his two uncles: Jamis Paulson and Cody (Candace) Paulson all of Park Rapids; three step-aunts: Jamie (Peter Mitchell) Pickett of Akeley, Stacey (Steve) Offerdahl of Park Rapids and Katie (Jon) Paulson of Fargo, ND; as well as 24 cousins, other relatives and many family friends. Zappa was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Paulson who died recently on May 5, 2015; his great grandmother, Shirley Kiefert who also died recently on March 7, 2015; his cousin, Cayden Hendrickson who died recently on May 14, 2015; his second cousin, Ember Rae who died recently on March 10; his great grandparents, Vern and Bertha Paulson and Neil and Ethel Massie; second cousins: Aaron and Matthew Harvala; as well as several great aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Friday, June 19, 2015, at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset, MN with Rev. Tim Heinecke and Rev. Chris Davis officiating. Connie Shubert will be the organist. The active casket bearers will be David Patterson, Tlayne Reichling, Phil Skaro and Trevor Hendrickson. The honorary casket bearers will be: Concrete Pros. LLC- Garrett's employer and co-workers and the Donnie and Brittany Trumble family. Interment will be made next to his grandfather and great grandparents in the Greenwood Cemetery of Park Rapids, MN.
