Barbara Jean Wallin (nee Becker), age 67, of Menahga, died October 26, 2015 at her home with her husband by her side from complications with the chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and passionate teacher. She taught for 40 years in Bloomington and was a substitute teacher during retirement in Menahga. Her ability to excite children about math and reading was infamous among her peers. After retiring she and her husband moved "Up North" from their long time home in Minneapolis. She became an active member of her local church and new community. Barb will be greatly missed. Barbara is survived by her husband, Charles; brothers Jim (Jane), Mark (Mary), Greg (Kay) and sister Clare (Mike) Bissonnette; daughters Leah and Lynne (Matthew) Amerson; grandchildren Beatrice and Charles; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home, Menahga, November 3 from 5-7pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm. Funeral Service at Assumption of Our Lady, Menahga, November 4 at 10:30am. Prayer Service at Christ the King, Minneapolis, November 5 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Barb's memory to the American Cancer Society.
