Madonna Neeb

   MaDonna May (Flaig) Neeb passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Rochester, MN at Seasons Hospice.    MaDonna was born March 28, 1930 to parents Ralph B. and Estella (Schouweiler) Flaig in Burnstown Township of Brown County.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn, MN.  She attended the Sanborn Public School and graduated in 1947.  MaDonna gained employment at the Hillig Jewelry Store in Redwood Falls prior to her marriage.  On February 8, 1949 MaDonna was united in marriage to Martin A. Neeb at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn.  This union was blessed with four sons: Mic, Tom, Mark and Nick.     The first 25 years of her marriage she was a farm wife and resided with her husband and sons on a farm near Lamberton, MN. The family later moved to Worthington and in 1991, she and Marty moved to Nevis, MN where they purchased a home on Lake Belle Taine to enjoy their retirement.   MaDonna moved to Rochester in 2001 and lived at Fairway Ridge, followed by Samaritan Bethany. Madonna made many friends at both homes and became known for her quick wit and sarcastic humor. Her care-givers particularly enjoyed their time with her.    MaDonna will be lovingly remembered by her four sons: Michael and his wife Kathy of Crooks, SD, Thomas and his wife Cindy of Los Banos, CA, Mark of Rochester, MN and Nick and his wife Roz of Northfield, MN;nine grandchildren: Chris, Kate, Becky, Zachary, Micaela, Macayle, Marren, Peter and Charlie; sister, Shirley (Bob) Simonson of Springfield, MN; brother, Gilbert (Marlene) Flaig of Eau Claire, WI; and sisters-in-law: Elaine Flaig (Dennis) Pechtel, Marie Neeb all of Worthington and Berdine Neeb of Lamberton.      She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Estella Flaig; husband Martin in 1999; brother, Francis Flaig; sister, Dolores (Glenard) Essig; in-laws Clarence and Kate Neeb; brothers-in-law Henry, Donald, Edward and sister-in-law Theresa Neeb.     Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield, MN with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.  Father Phil Schotzko will be officiating and Mary Jo Burginger will be the organist.  The congregational hymns will be “I Am the Bread of Life”, “Morning Has Broken”, “Danny Boy”, “Going Home”, “Turn”, “A Time For Everything” and “How Great Thou Art”.  The casket bearers will be Peter Neeb, Charlie Neeb, Macayle Neeb, Marren Neeb, Zach Neeb, Chris Neeb, Rolf Flaig, Roger Burginger and Clive Simonson.  Interment will be made at the Sanborn City Cemetery following a lunch hosted by the church after mass.
