Delores "Didi" Schultz

     Delores “Didi” June Schultz, age 86, a longtime Menahga, MN area resident, peacefully entered the splendor of Heaven on Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga with her loved ones at her side.      Delores was born June 12, 1930 in St, Paul, MN to Adolph and Ethel (Olson) Warmbold.  As a young child, Delores moved with her family to the Menahga area where they farmed in Runeberg Township west of Menahga.  She attended country school near her home.  As a young woman, Delores helped with the farm chores and as a part of such a large family also helped her mother with the house work.  On November 12, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Walter Fred Schultz.  This union was blessed with three children: David, Deborah and Dennis.  Delores devoted herself to making a loving and secure home for her husband and children.  She was a wonderful cook and baker and will be long remembered for her delicious homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, cakes and pies.  The young family made their first home in Detroit Lakes until moving to the iron range in 1956.  In 1965, the Schultz family moved to Minneapolis where they resided until the summer of 1972 when they returned to Menahga and built a new home on 80 acres near the original Warmbold homestead.  Here Delores looked forward to planting a large vegetable garden each spring which she nurtured into fruitful abundance to preserve for her family and friends.  For many years she has been a faithful member of the Menahga Assembly of God Church.  She loved music and enjoyed to play her accordion.  Delores especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud of all her grandchildren.       She will be lovingly remembered by her three children: David (Ann) Schultz of Menahga, MN, Deborah (Renato) Japor of Plymouth, MN and Dennis (Darlene) Schultz of Clearwater, MN; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Sakkinen of Menahga and Ruth Bye of Blaine, MN; five brothers: Harold Warmbold, Delbert (Janice) Warmbold and Dorrance (Diane) Warmbold all of Menahga, Duane (Carol) Warmbold of Paynesville, MN and Jeff (Carol) Warmbold of Northfield, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.      Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter on November 12, 1986; three sisters: Dorothy, Gloria and Audrey and three brothers: Roy, Howard and Herbert.      Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Menahga Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating.  Paulette Smith will serve as the organist and will also sing, “One Day At A Time”.  The casket bearers will be her five grandsons: Michael Japor, Rick Japor, Shane Schultz, Aaron Schultz and Jason Schultz and her brother, Delbert Warmbold.  The honorary casket bearers will be her granddaughters: Jennifer Schultz and Julie Schultz.  Interment will be made next to her husband, Walter at the Alajoki Cemetery.  Following the service, a luncheon will be hosted by her church family.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday, October 14 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga and will continue Saturday beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.
