Jane Elsie Jankowsky, age 95, passed away November 4, 2016 in Waite Park, MN. Jane was born January 3, 1921 to Eric and Bertha Huset in Dallas, WI. She attended school in Gilbertson and Dallas, WI. On October 5, 1941 Jane was united in marraige to Edwin Jankowsky in Edgerton, WI. This union was blessed with two children: Patricia Jane and James Edwin. Jane was a homemaker, working at various places including Riedell Skates in Red Wing and retired in 1979 from Lantz Optical, St. Cloud. Jane and Ed moved to their dream log cabin home on 2nd Crow Wing Lake, Nevis, MN. Jane enjoyed fishing, tending to flowers, doing embroidering, visiting with neighbors, friends and family, and the warm weather in the winter in Nevada with Ed. Jane especially enjoyed time with her dear friend Hilda Bratch and shared many interesting experiences along with visiting people, going out for coffee, shopping for bargains and especially the Bible Study at St. John's Lutheran in Park Rapids. Jane had a very soft spot in her heart for the pets they had including Tony and Brown Dog. She was member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Park Rapids since 1979. She will be lovingly remembered by her son James (Kaye) Jankowsky; son-in-law Leon (Gayla) Schmidtbauer; four grandchildren: Lorie (Ardyn) Hansen, Mark (Jacqui) Schmidtbauer, Scott Schmidtbauer, and Patty (Michael) Engels; nine great-grandchildren: Bethany (John), Tyler, Nicole, Alexia, Brendan, Connor, Hatti, Eddie, and Faith; and one great-great-granddaughter. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, daughter Patricia Jane, and great-great grandson Kayden Andrew. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Reverend James Neubauer officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers will be Lorie Hansen, Patricia Engels, Scott Schmidtbauer and Mark Schmidtbauer. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids. Coffee and cake will be served following the interment at the church.
