Sharon Atkinson

SHARON ATKINSON October 12, 1947 – November 21, 2016         Sharon Atkinson, age 69, of Park Rapids, MN peacefully passed away in her home November 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 12, 1947 in Park Rapids, MN the daughter of Roy & Helen (Lundquist) Robbins.  She attended Park Rapids High School.  She married Kenneth J. Atkinson in July of 1964; this union was blessed with five children.  Sharon loved music, dancing, taking walks and enjoying God’s beauty in nature, flowers, and gardening.  She most of all enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family.        Sharon worked for several years in housekeeping at Heritage Living Center, and she worked several years at Ament Bakery.  She last worked at St. Joseph Hospital for thirteen years retiring in 2013.       Surviving her are her five children: Duane Atkinson of Park Rapids; Brenda Belmonte (Gary) of St. Paul; Missy Raidt (Richard) of Park Rapids; Kristy Luth of Menahga; and Kevin Atkinson of Menahga.  13 loving grandchildren and five precious great grandchildren, along with two brothers: Kenneth Robbins (Betty) and Daryl Robbins both of Park Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and two brothers.       Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the services beginning at noon at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids.  Online condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.jonespearson.com.
