Marilyn P. Fulk, age 87, of Bemidji, MN, formerly a long time resident of Lake George, MN, peacefully passed into eternal glory on Friday, December 30, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones at the Gold Pine Home in Bemidji. Marilyn was born to Arthur and Kathryn (White) Riedlinger on July 18, 1929 at her home in Peoria County, IL. It was in this same area that she attended elementary school in Bartonville and then went on to Manual High School in Peoria from where she graduated with the Class of 1947. Following high school, Marilyn attended nurses training at the St. Louis City Hospital in St. Louis, MO, graduating with her Registered Nursing degree in 1950. Two months later on July 30, 1950, Marilyn was united in marriage to Virgil E. Fulk in Bartonville, IL. This marriage was blessed with four children: Dennis, Brian, Eric and Kim. Marilyn devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. In addition she pursued her nursing profession in a career that spanned 30 years at the Methodist Hospital in Peoria. In 1979, Marilyn and Virgil retired to their home at Lake George, MN where they had vacationed as a family for many years. Her retirement years were busy. She was a faithful and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George where she had served as church secretary/treasurer and was part of the Ladies Aid for a number of years. She was also active with the Lake George Senior Citizens and had served a term as President. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed crocheting, quilting or knitting gifts for her family and friends. Her heart was broken with deep pain and grief following the tragic death of her son, Eric in 1981 and by the death of her precious Virgil in 2003. Above all, Marilyn will be long remembered for her strong faith in the Lord and for her unconditional love for her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Dennis (Debi) Fulk of Lake George, Brian (Kathy) Fulk of Bemidji and Kim (John) Russell of Southbend, Indiana; her seven dearly loved grandsons: Nathan, Aaron, Kyle, Jordan, Colin, Tanner and Noah; four great grandchildren and one great great grandson; her two brothers: Gerald (Jean) Riedlinger of Bartonville, IL and Warren Riedlinger of Cherokee, Arkansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eric; her husband, Virgil and one brother, Vernon. Funeral services are set for 2 PM Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, MN with the Rev. Gary Rehborg officiating. Casket bearers will be: Kyle Fulk, Jordan Fulk, Bob Aultman, Gary Oftelie, John Westad and Brett Lessman. Interment will be made next to her husband, Virgil in the Lake George Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church on Friday beginning one hour prior to the service. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow the service hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church.
