ROBERT WESLEY SARVI August 26, 1929 – January 9, 2017 Robert Wesley Sarvi, age 88 of Alexandria, MN, formerly of the Sebeka/Menahga, MN area peacefully passed into eternity on Monday morning, January 9, 2017 at the Ecumen-Bethany Community in Alexandria. Bob was born on August 26, 1929 in Wadena, MN to Andrew and Aliina (Aho) Sarvi. It was in the Hillview, MN area west of Sebeka/Menahga that he attended school and grew up on his parent’s farm. At an early age, Bob learned the value of honest, hard work helping on his parent’s farm. As a young man he ventured to Minneapolis where he invested his life into working as a mechanic and truck driver for a number of large construction companies. He retired back to the home farm in the 1990’s. Bob enjoyed repairing cars, trucks and tractors on the farm and took special pride in having everything running well. It was a very sad day for Bob when he held a farm auction and sold off all the equipment and land. Failing health caused him to move to Alexandria to be near his nephew, Ed. He will be lovingly remembered by his ten nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Mayme Mickelson, Helmi (Pearl) Ritz, Lillian Immonen and Rosie Rolfhus; his seven brothers: Wilfred, Hjalmer, Harold, Raymond, Roy, Benjamin and Albert. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga with the Rev. Art Skoog officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
