Jeanette Kusi

JEANETTE CAROL KUSI November 10, 1930 – June 3, 2017                   Jeanette Carol Kusi, age 86, a lifelong Menahga/Park Rapids, MN area resident, peacefully entered the splendor of eternity at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 3, 2017.                 Jeanette was born on November 10, 1930 in Wadena, MN to Ernest and Alice (Anderson) Jacob.  She grew up in the Menahga/Sebeka area and attended country school in Runeberg Township near her parent’s farm.  As a young woman she enjoyed helping her dad with the farm work where she particularly enjoyed helping with caring for and feeding their livestock.  On September 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edward K. Kusi in Menahga.  The young couple began their lives together on the farm Eddy had purchased for them located between Menahga and Park Rapids on highway 71, shortly before they were married.  Their marriage was blessed with four children: JoAnne, Robert, Janice and Kenny.  Jeanette dedicated her life to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children.  She enjoyed farm life and especially loved to help care for the animals; especially the horses, pigs, chickens and kittens.  She also enjoyed working with Eddie cutting firewood in their woods.  Jeanette enjoyed taking scenic drives through the Paul Bunyan State Game Refuge with her family and stopping for picnics along the way.  She was a gifted writer who was a very prolific composer of poetry.  Her poems elaborated on her strong faith and love for Jesus and what he did on the cross for her.  For many years she attended the Menahga United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer for 14 years.  Above all, Jeanette loved her husband and children with all her heart and soul.                  She will forever be lovingly remembered by her four children: JoAnn, Robert, Janice and Kenneth Kusi all residing at home on the farm as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.                 Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers: Harold and Richard and her precious husband, Eddie who died in August of 2013 after filling her life with great happiness in their 63 years of marriage.                 Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 9th, 2017 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with the Reverend Loren Ferch officiating.  Casketbearers will be: Duane Becker, Ron Anderson, Jimmy Craig, Rev. Loren Ferch and Tim Pearson.  Interment will be made in the Kusi Oakwood Family Cemetery located on their farm.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Thursday evening, June 8, 2017 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services on Friday.  To leave online condolences or to view the video tribute please visit www.jonespearson.com
