JAMES DALE “Jamie” EDELMAN June 13, 1963 – June 16, 2017 James Dale (Jamie) Edelman entered the arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 16th, 2017, three days after his 54th birthday, in Duluth, MN. Jamie was born on June 13th, 1963, to Manual and LaVonne Edelman, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. He was welcomed home by his siblings Diana, Deb, Danny, Shelly and David. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Lake George, MN, and confirmed at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Bovey, MN. Jamie attended schools in Park Rapids, Bovey and Coleraine. At 17, Jamie’s carefree life was interrupted by an automobile accident, causing brain stem damage and paralysis to his left side. Time was spent healing and relearning in hospitals, nursing facilities, the Courage Center in Minneapolis, and his apartment in Hibbing. Jamie resided in the Basswood Home for fourteen years and recently at the TBI Center, in Duluth, MN. Jamie’s spirit was never broken, nor did he lose his sense of humor, big grin, or infectious laugh. He relished being the first to wish his Mom a ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ every year. He loved watching the ships in Duluth, when he wasn’t playing cribbage; earning the title “Cribbage King”. Most of all, Jamie loved to fish and provide a delicious fish dinner to share with his family. Jamie left his earthly home to join his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Ann Edelman; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Violet Sitz and infant niece Brenda Aho with his family, caretakers and dear friends by his side. His beautiful smile will be missed, but remembered and remain in the hearts of his parents, Manual and LaVonne Edelman of Lake George; sisters: Diana Greeninger, Debra (Kirk) Lengeling, Michelle (Dan) Tilly: brothers: Danny and David Edelman; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to extend many thanks to friend, Carol Bratton, the wonderful staff and caregivers at Basswood and TBI, his numerous cribbage opponents, very special friends: Dan and Janet Lovejoy and his best buddy, Ryan Matson. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, MN with the Rev. Gary Rehborg officiating. The organist will be Karen Lueth. The soloist is Lois Holleman who will sing "The Lord's Prayer" and "Come Home It's Supper Time". The urnbearers will be his siblings: Diana Greeninger, Kirk and Deb Lengeling, Dan and Michelle Tilly, Dan Edelman, David and Coleen Edelman. Tributes will be given by special friends: Dan and Janet Lovejoy and his best buddy Ryan Mattson. Interment will be made in the Lake George Cemetery following a luncheon hosted by the family.
