Donald LeRoy Litzau, age 82, a long time Park Rapids, MN resident, formerly of Frazee, MN peacefully passed into eternity, surrounded by his loved ones at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids on Monday, August 7, 2017. Don was born on October 26, 1934 on the family farm near Frazee to Herman and Hilda (Nelson) Litzau. As a boy, he attended country school near his home. As a young man, Don entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country stationed in France. After receiving his honorable discharge, Don returned home to help on the family farm. On June 30, 1964, Don was united in marriage to Rosezella Mae White. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Kevin, Chrystal, Cleo and Cassandra. Don and Rosezella made their first home in Park Rapids where Don was employed with the Lakewood Mink Farm for a time. In 1975, they moved to St. Peter, MN where Don worked at the Coop Creamery. In 1987 they returned to Park Rapids where Don gained employment with Thielen Motors, working as an auto transporter form many years until his retirement in the late 2000’s. Don loved the outdoors and ever since childhood he loved to camp and fish with his family. He loved music, especially toe tapping classic country. His life was forever changed by the death of his precious wife and soulmate, Rosezella who died in 1998. Above all, Don devoted himself to caring for his wife, his children and his grandchildren who he loved with all his heart. Don will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Kevin Litzau of Dilworth, MN, Chrystal (Scott) Hurlburt and Cleo (Joshua Buckley) Litzau all of Park Rapids and Cassandra (Juan) Garcia of Atlanta, GA; ten precious grandchildren and three great grand babies; his brother Leonard (Linda) Litzau of Dorset, MN as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosezella; one granddaughter and his sister, Dorothy Kading. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be: Randy Pickett, Rodney Bibeau, Lorie Brown, Justin Brown and Jerry White. Interment will be made in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Toad Lake next to his wife.
