Dale Robert Dwire

DALE ROBERT DWIRE March 14, 1953 – December 13, 2017    Dale Robert Dwire, age 64 of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Backus, MN peacefully passed into eternity on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 with his loved ones at his side at the Essential Health Medical Center in Fargo, ND after battling heart disease for many years.    Dale was born on March 14, 1953 in Park Rapids, MN to Jack and Donna (Hasbrouck) Dwire. He grew up on his parent’s farm near Backus, MN and attended Walker Public Schools. As a young man, he earned his commercial drivers license and drove semi over the road with his brother, Kirby. Later he worked in the area forests logging timber for a number of years. Dale was employed by RDO Farms driving fertilizer trucks and working with the harvest crew in a career that spanned over 20 years. On October 25, 1980, Dale was united in marriage to Ruth Ardis Nelson in Nevis, MN. This union was blessed with three children: Jerra Mae, Robert Jack and James Leo. At the age of 42, Dale suffered his first two heart attacks. Throughout the rest of his life, he underwent numerous cardiac care treatments, hospital visits and surgeries; including, patching a hole in his heart, implantation of a cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator, and cardiac artery stint implants. Due to his declining health, Dale was forced to retire early from RDO in May of 2011. Towards the end of Dale’s life, his heart was operating at only a 15% capacity. During times of better health, Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Above all, Dale loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart.    Dale will be lovingly remembered by his three children: Jerra Mae Dwire of Blaine, MN Robert Dwire of Park Rapids and James (Lexi) Dwire of Pine River, MN; his brother, Kirby (Cheryl) Dwire of Backus, MN; 5 sisters: Vicki (Bud) McCarty of Backus, MN, Bobbie Haverinen of Wadena, MN, Dawn (Dean) Haverinen of Sheldon, ND, Pansi (Kevin) Millage of Cannon Falls, MN, Twila (Burtis) Moore of Shawneetown, IL and Toni Dwire of Ft. Dodge, IA; his former wife, Ruth Dwire of Longville, MN as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.    He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Mark and Kerwin.    Memorial Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
