Paul Nicolas Sturm, age 88, of Sebeka MN, peacefully passed into glory on January 7, 2018 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Paul was born on July 18, 1929 in Cottonwood Township of Brown County, MN to John and Gretchen (Metzen) Sturm. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Ulm and then went on to graduate in 1947 from the New Ulm Public High School. He worked on the family farm until entering in the US Army on March 26, 1951. Paul proudly served his country earning the rank of Corporal during the Korean War. He earned his honorable discharge in 1953 and returned to Brown County to work for a local farmer. In 1954, he moved to Sebeka and went to work on the Hepola family farm for a number of years. In July of 1966, Paul gained employment with the Sebeka American Legion Club as its manager. In 1970, he joined the City of Sebeka staff and managed its liquor store until 1980. In the early 1980’s, Paul began working for the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena as a custodian in a career that spanned over 13 years until his retirement. Paul was a long time member of the Catholic Aid Association, the Knights of Columbus, the Sebeka American Legion, the Sebeka Lions Club, the Assumption Of Our Lady Catholic Church and the Park Rapids Antique Tractor and Engine Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing. Paul is survived by his son Nickolas Andrew Sturm; two sisters: Elaine Stueber and Jeanne Wech both of New Ulm, MN; two brothers: Leo Joseph Sturm and Roger Sturm both of New Ulm, MN as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by two brothers: George Lawrence and John Henry Jr., and one sister, Beatrice.
