LUCILLE RAE “Lu” FRIELER November 3, 1954 – February 13, 2018    Lucille Rae “Lu” Frieler, age 63, of Sebeka, MN, formerly of Royalton, MN, peacefully passed into the glorious splendor of Heaven on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at the Tri County Hospital, Wadena, MN.      Lu was born on November 3, 1954 in South St. Paul, MN to Merlyn and Norma (Fischer) Weigel. She attended elementary school through the 6th grade at Pine Bend Elementary School in South St. Paul and then went on to attend grades seventh through ninth in Inver Grove Heights at Simley High School. In the summer of 1970, her family moved to Bowlus, MN. Lu attended the Royalton High School, graduating with the Class of 1973. On January 26, 1974, Lu was united in marriage to David Joseph Yorek at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus. Their marriage was blessed with four children: David Joseph Jr., Jeannie Marie, Susan Rae and Jennifer Lin. The young family made their home in Royalton where Lu devoted herself to making a loving home for her husband and children. Lu and David operated “Dave and Lu’s Café” in Royalton for a time. Lu enjoyed volunteering at her children’s school and being involved with them in their early years. For a number of years Lu and her husband operated the D & L distributing food service business. Later, Lu began working for the Wilkie-Sanderson Custom Cabinetry Shop in Sauk Rapids where she enjoyed working with wood in a career that spanned over 10 years. On weekends, for many years, Lu would work part-time in the kitchen of the Minneapolis Convention Center. She enjoyed working outside especially with her flowers and vegetable garden. She loved fishing and walking. Lu was a member of the Sauk Rapids Lions Club for over ten years. On July 6, 2013, Lu’s life was made complete in her marriage to Mark Frieler. The couple married in Hamilton, IL. Lu and Mark made a home together in Wadena, MN and moved to Sebeka in September of 2016. The couple enjoyed taking road trips, going off the beaten path to visit loved ones, playing disc golf, gardening and many other hobbies. Lu had a real thirst for life and lived it to the fullest.    Lu will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark of Sebeka; her four children: David Jr., of Pflugerville, TX; Jeannie (Tim) Blake of Rogers, MN, Susan (Tim) Olson of Rice, MN, Jennifer Yorek and her fiancé, Brian Achuff of Land O’ Lakes, WI; 16 precious grandchildren; her three sisters: Kathy Paradeis of Fargo, ND, Tammy Weigel of Alvin, TX and Lisa (Alan) Defrance of Mpls.; three brothers: Skip (Roxy) Weigel of Alvin, TX, Ron (Karen) Weigel of Lake City, MN and Mike (Connie) Weigel of East Bethel, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.    Lu was preceded in death by her parents.    Memorial services will be held 3 PM Sunday February 18, 2018 at the Graham United Methodist Church in Rice, MN with Pastor Rick Koehn officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
