Mark Wilkins

Mark Louis Wilkins April 12, 1959 - February 22, 2018    Mark Louis Wilkins was called to heaven on Thursday February 22, 2018. He was born on April 12, 1959 to Charles (Charlie) and Beverly Wilkins. He graduated from Park Rapids Area High School in 1977.    Mark was united in marriage to Kathy Schmitz on September 2, 1978. Mark and Kathy made their home in Park Rapids Minnesota, and were blessed with three children. Mark made his living driving truck, logging, and as a heavy equipment operator on road construction and pipeline crews.    Mark had many talents and hobbies. Mark enjoyed playing the harmonica while driving his truck. He also played the fiddle, carved wood, built log furniture, and was a self-taught tatter and knottier. Mark also liked working with his mules Kate, Babe, and Charlotte.    Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy of 39 years; his children Amanda of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeffery (Ashley) of Lonsdale, MN, and Dustin (Ali) of Vadnais Heights, MN; his grandchildren, Addison and Charlie, Louis and Lucy, and Sadie Jo; his mother Beverly of Park Rapids, MN, his brother John (Nancy) of Drummond, MT, his nieces Alicia, Sarah, and Emily, and nephew Andy. Mark was preceded in death by his father Charlie Wilkins.    Mark leaves us with many memories of his witty humor, humble and kind way, and the sparkle in his eye. He strove to live by Proverbs 16:3 everyday. “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established”.
