Judy Kay Keezer

JUDY KAY KEEZER March 20, 1950 – March 6, 2018    Judy Kay Keezer, age 67, of Parkston, SD, formerly a long time Osage, MN area resident, peacefully passed into the glorious splendor of heaven, following a valiant battle against cancer on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at the St. Benedicts Hospital in Parkston, SD.    Judy was born on March 20th, 1950 to Vernon and Carol (Pierson) Slover in Osage, MN. It was in the Osage area that she attended public school through the eighth grade and then went on to attend high school in Park Rapids from where she graduated with the Class of 1968. In 1969, she was united in marriage to Jerry LeRoy Keezer and they were blessed with a daughter, Carla and a son, Darin. She was preceded in death by Jerry in 1982. When her children were very small, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked full time as a nurse’s aid at a nursing home and attended school. She returned to the Osage/Park Rapids area and worked hard to support her two small children by working at the Lamb-Weston RDO for five years and then worked for another 33 years for the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids until her retirement. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in July of 2016. Shortly thereafter, she moved to South Dakota to be closer to her cancer treatments. Judy will be remembered for her sincere and humble spirit, her awesome sense of humor and her strong faith in God. Above all, she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren who she loved with all heart.    Judy will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Carla Keezer of Parkston, SD and Darin Keezer of Park Rapids; nine beloved grandchildren: Donovan, Daniel, Domonique, Levi, Darin Jr., Anastacia, Viviana, Carol and Natalie; and her six precious great grandchildren: Darrius, Deion, Dayjah, Delsyn, Brodyn and Dominick; as well as many nieces and nephews.    Judy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her seven brothers: Lloyd, Floyd, Ronnie, Jerry, Marvin, Gary and Daniel.    Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 15th, 2018 at the Grace Community Church in Osage with the Rev. Paul McKibben officiating. The casket bearers will be: Darin Keezer, Darin Keezer Jr., Donovan Sigmundik, Troy Sigmundik and Zach Holland. Honorary casket bearers will be: Dominique Sigmundik, Daniel Keezer, Levi Westbrook, Tom Johnson and Eugene Johnson. Interment will be made in the Riverside Cemetery in Osage, MN. Following the service a luncheon will be hosted by the Grace Community church family. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
